The soil that forms a slope sometimes has an arid composition, and these conditions are what causes water and wind erosion, and can affect and result in detachment of particles.
Erosion is a natural process caused by the action of wind, water, temperature changes depending on the characteristics of the place (type of soil, vegetation, location and orography).
Geosynthetics can be used for the control of erosion in all places, such as slopes, hillsides, road embankments, railways, bridges, canals, etc., landfills, protection of the margins of rivers and seas, among many other places.
To carry out the works for erosion control, a very complete study of geotechnical, topographic and climatic conditions must be fulfilled in order to know the behavior of the slope.
The main cause of problems on slopes is water (rainwater, runoff and groundwater). The protection is usually made using vegetation as the main stabilization work, however, there are times when this solution is not possible and it is necessary, therefore, to carry out works with other materials, which must also comply with the principle of environmental protection.
The realization of works for erosion control and stabilization of slopes should be based initially on the use of bioengineering techniques such as blankets or plant networks, but when it is impossible, we will resort to treatments based on concrete structures, gabions, masonry, etc. or mixed techniques.
Our geosynthetic materials can be considered as a union of soft and hard techniques, combining the realization of an ecological retaining wall, or the installation of structures that prevent soil erosion.
We will use a geosynthetic like Geoobolochka “GeoFRAM” or Geoobolochka “GeoFRAM” injectable, made with polyester, a material that does not pollute the environment. Another advantage of this material is that it allows vegetation to grow, even leading to the concealment of the structures themselves.
